I know how hard it can be to find delicious and healthy meals, so I am going to start doing posts on which recipes I have tried and recommend. I’ve sifted through many Pinterest boards, cookbooks and recipe blogs. So I’m only going to share the ones I love to save you the work of endlessly searching for a good recipe.
Read MoreThere’s a lot of talk out there about hustling and creating your own life. Becoming an entrepreneur. Designing your life the way you want it. It’s almost like everyone out there is chasing a dream and making it happen. 2019 is the year of change. Oh but wait, the next decade is around the corner…and you haven’t reached your goals yet. So, now what?
Read MoreI never liked lavender. In fact, I used to turn my nose up at the name. It just wasn’t my thing. It’s a herb that has grown on me. It’s grown on me to the point that I now turn my nose up in a different way. I want to smell allll the lavender allll the time. There are so many ways to use lavender, and I believe it is a great starter herb if you are looking to make your own little apothecary or want to dabble in herbs more.
Read MoreSelf-love and self-worth are extremely closely related. When you value yourself and when you see the worth you have, then love follows. When you love you, your worthiness is put above all else. Loving yourself means jumping in with both feet knowing that you will land where you need to. Loving yourself is trusting that who you are in this moment is enough. Loving yourself is growth.
Read MoreI wasn’t sure about her books until I heard from multiple people that I needed to read them. She kept popping up everywhere online as well, so I took these as signs that I needed to read her books. I started The Universe Has Your Back after I graduated in 2017. It seemed like exactly what I needed to move into the next phase of my life. And it was.
Read MoreDecide how you want to feel. Define it. Get to know it. Understand who you are in the moments that you feel that way. And then choose those feelings. When problems arise or situations come up where you can default back into fear or whatever story you carry - choose to love. Choose peace. Choose joy. Choose gratitude.
Read MoreUnwind is probably one of my favourite words. I can just feel myself melt when I think about the prospect of unwinding after a long day. Or even after a short day that was busy or stressful. Unwinding to me is a way to release the tension of the day, release any negative or intense emotions, settle in for the night and really allow yourself to move forward to the next part of your day/evening.
Read MoreNo one has come before you in your own life. You are the first person to live the life you live. The first person to have the story you have. The first person to experience your experiences. So we are all by default… trailblazers. You can create the life you want. And even though a circumstance can mirror another person’s experience, it will never be exactly the same.
Read MoreBooks have always been a part of my life. My earliest memories are of my mom reading to me. There was something about the way she read that made everything come to life. I loved being curled up in bed with her, looking up at her as she read the words out to me. Words I couldn’t see, but words I could feel. I could be perfectly safe with her next to me while my imagination would run wild. I think that’s where my love of reading began.
Read MoreIf you feel pulled to be a certain person, play a specific role or define who you are, remember this simple thing: You can be both. You can be all. The dichotomy of two opposites can exist within you and be simultaneously expressed. Your desires and fears can coexist and equally make you who you are. You can be both. You can love something fiercely and not fully understand it. You can be book smart and not street smart. You can be into science and have a creative edge. You can have a wild heart and still be afraid to take the first step.
Read MoreThis year has been the year of self-work and self-growth. Being in school was like hitting the pause button on life. Mind you...life still went on whether I liked it or not, but in most aspects, I could put everything on the back burner. Now that school has been over for a year (!!), it feels like "real life" has finally begun.
Read MoreThe inspiration behind this drink was wanting something that incorporated my love for herbs and my love for tea lattes. I wanted a tea that would be healing and nourishing, while still giving me the feels of drinking a warm holiday drink at home. Enter the Nettle Cardamom Tea Latte. Sure is a mouthful. Literally.
Read MoreI can’t even count the number of times I have heard people express how overwhelmed they get about social media. Frustrated and worn down by the pressure to fit the mold. Tired of being inundated with images of “should bes” and “have tos”. Feeling that being "positive" means slapping a smile on your face and throwing an inspirational quote on your feed. If you can relate to any of this then my dear, this post is for you...
Read MoreSelf-love is a beautiful thing. It's powerful, it's comforting, and it exists within you. It does not need to be validated. It does not need to be given. It's already yours. I'm always encouraging self-love, but instead of rambling on about it as I usually do, today I decided to give you a taste (literally) of my world.
Read MoreSometimes I wonder who each of us would be if we were inside out. If we couldn't hide behind layers of clothing or makeup or false personalities. If our souls and hearts were what we led with. If beauty was felt before it was seen. If we all just were our truth...
Read MoreAnyone who knows me personally knows that I have an interesting relationship with time. I tend to exist on both poles of the time management continuum. On one hand, I am hyperaware of my schedule, I am extremely organized when it comes to deadlines and my calendar app is my best friend...
