Self-Care Gift Guide

I love giving gifts. There is something so special about picking out a gift for someone you adore and seeing their reaction when they open it. Bonus if it’s a surprise, right?

I also strongly believe in gifting yourself. Because we all work hard. We deserve to be spoiled and to be reminded of how important and valuable we are. And we need to give that care to ourselves instead of waiting/expecting it from someone else! To be honest, I think that the more you spoil yourself, the better, but I am definitely biased in this area as a self-care junkie ;)

This Valentine’s day, instead of my usual self-love post, I thought I would share a little self-care gift guide for you. Sometimes we want to invest in our own self-care or encourage a loved one to, but we don’t know where to start. What would make the best gift for a seasoned self-care lover or self-care newb? Don’t worry, I got you covered. Here are my fave suggestions for self-care themed gifts. If you have some you would like to see added to this list, leave a comment below!

Gift Ideas

one. LIVING LIBATIONS BSE SEA BUCKTHORN OIL CLEANSER + MOISTURIZER

I had to start with skincare of course. This has quickly become my favourite facial oil to use. I used to scream and run in the other direction when someone told me about oil cleansing. I'm prone to blackheads and with combination skin, oil was the last thing I wanted to put on my face. But this has revolutionized my skincare routine. It is the only product I use currently, and it has completely cleared up my skin and improved my texture. I’ll link an Instagram tutorial video I love following to help me use this product properly.

two. THE POWER OF NOW BOOK BY ECKHART TOLLE

If you follow me on Instagram, you have probably already seen me raving about this book. I can’t get over how good it was and how much it changed my world. It’s definitely a deep book and spiritual-focused, so I know it’s not for everyone. But if you, or someone you love, is on a spiritual/self-care/personal growth journey and wants a bit more guidance on how to align to the true self, then this is the gift to go with.

three. ROSE HYDRATING EUPHORIC MIST

This is my favourite mist ever. I haven’t always been a mist person or a fragrance person in general, but I love using this mist whenever I am doing some sort of self-care. Right now, it sits next to my meditation pillow and my Himalayan salt lamp and I spray it all around me whenever I meditate or if I just need a moment to get into my own energy. It really works wonders; it’s light and it smells amazing.

four. SCRUNCHIES FROM THE WILD HEART

I adore scrunchies. There’s something about it that is nostalgic and classy and comfy all at the same time. And it’s part of every self-care routine if you ask me. I created these scrunchies to fit seamlessly into your day whether you’re out and about or cozy at home. There are tons to choose from and some new neutrals that will be added on valentines day!

five. SUNRISE ALARM CLOCK

I’ve been talking everyone’s ear off about this one. I love my sunrise alarm clock. It’s an investment though, ok? But a good one I promise! It took some getting used to, but now I can’t live without it. A sunrise alarm clock mimics the sunrise, so it wakes you up gradually as the light intensity increases until it reaches the time you want to wake up. You can set some nice sounds to go with it too. I have mine as music and birds chirping. This has been a game-changer for me with waking up early. I have always wanted to have early mornings, but could never drag myself out of bed. This has significantly changed that. There are some more affordable versions out there, but honestly, I’ve tried another one before this one, and this one wins for sure.

six. CANDLES FROM SHY WOLF CANDLES

You have not experienced a candle until you have tried these ones. I am not joking. This is a local Canadian brand and every candle is hand-poured, with cotton wicks, reusable amber glass jars, sustainably-grown soy wax, and clean-burning, premium fragrance oils. I mean…what more could you ask for? The blends are insane and the descriptions are so spot on. It’s like they have captured a feeling with each one. Even with just having this candle open, not burning, the scent fills up the space and stays there. It is heavenly for a wind-down routine or a romantic evening in. My favourites are The Hermit and The Fool.

seven. BLANKET SCARF FROM ONE WEDNESDAY

I am a sucker for a big, juicy blanket scarf. When I found these ones, I was seriously drooling. And I definitely didn’t hesitate to add to cart. Since then, this has become a staple in my closet, it is always packed with me on any sort of trip, and is a go-to on a night in with friends. It’s so cute, it’s neutral, it’s lightweight but still durable, can double as a throw or picnic blanket AND is machine-washable! Like… it checks off all the boxes. It’s basically become my emotional support blanket at this point. A beautiful gift for someone you love or to wrap yourself in while you cozy up on the couch.

eight. TEAS FROM THE WILD HEART

You knew I was going to add teas to this list, right? How could I not though!? Tea is self-care in a cup. Especially when it has medicinal benefits for the body and mind. I can’t imagine a better way to self-care then to get really comfy, brew your favourite cup of tea and just soak in the aromas and taste. I created two teas that embody self-care: The Homebody (a chai tea with rose and lavender) and The Overworked (a herbal, stress-relieving tea blend). Both are beautiful teas, and have been carefully formulated to ensure potency of the herbal actions as well as having the taste on point. No additional stuff in there, just the herbs and lots of love.

nine. VEGAN LEATHER JOURNAL

A journal is a necessity. Especially in this day and age. I mean, everyone is talking about it. But that aside, I believe that writing out your thoughts, your gratitudes, your feelings, or whatever comes up for you…is such an amazing tool. Even if you dont’ feel like you can write. Who cares, really? It’s for your eyes only. I have been able to process some major things in my life through my journals and they feel like therapy. Having a nice journal is key though. Something that is what it takes: a journal that makes you feel drawn to writing and looks cute on your nightstand. This one is so gorgeous. I got it for myself this year and just can’t stop staring at it. Definitely recommend it! The pages are super durable too!

ten. HYDRO FLASK WATERBOTTLE

A waterbottle is key. A good waterbottle, is EXTRA key. I have tried many, and none really helped me stick to drinking enough water. They were either not big enough, too much work to deal with, leaky, hard to transport or would dent/scratch up easily. Until I found hydro flask. They have many sizes, but I highly recommend the 32 oz. This is about 1L, so if you just drink two of these, you have pretty much gotten your daily water intake in. I also recommend getting the straw lid too (you can find it here and here). I don’t know why, but it has truly made me drink more water. Didn’t realize how much laziness played a factor in me not drinking enough water. But with the straw lid and a huge bottle, I am drinking a ton of water and loving it! And my skin is pretty happy about it too.

So there you have it! My little self-care gift guide! Happy Valentine’s Day my love! Whether you gift yourself or not, I hope you have the most amazing day. xoxo.
