Food is essential for life. What we put in our bodies directly affects our health and well-being. However, your nutritional needs are unique to you and will vary depending on your lifestyle and health concerns. In this busy world, nutrition can sometimes be the last thing you think about. That's where I come in. By learning about you and assessing your needs, I help you create a nutrition plan that works for you, making nourishment not only more practical, but also more enjoyable.
Botanical medicine is a form of medicine using herbs. Not just culinary herbs though! Many herbs have strong medicinal properties, and these medicinal plants are what we use as a form of treatment. Herbs have been used for thousands of years, and innately work to stimulate our own body's natural healing systems. Naturopathic doctors have extensive training in the use of herbs for various conditions and a deep understanding of how they act within the body. Herbs can also be used as a gentle support for overall well-being. Once I learn about you and your health concerns, I choose or blend together herbs in a formula specifically made for you. Your medicine will be in either a tincture, a tea or a capsulated form.
Health is not just about addressing physical ailments. It is also about working through any challenges you may be experiencing and learning to live a happy and authentic life. Whether you are struggling to find the time to work on your health, or there is a deeper emotional pattern you want to work through, I am here to offer you guidance and support.
Bowen therapy is a gentle and restorative form of physical therapy. The Bowen technique involves rolling over different muscles and nerve bundles at various points throughout the body. Bowen is a method of stimulating the body's innate intelligence to heal itself by sending subtle vibrational and neurological messages to the brain. This results in relaxation of the nervous system and can allow for pain release and detoxification in the body. Bowen therapy is a natural method of pain elimination and is also used for other concerns such as anxiety, digestive concerns, headaches, infertility, insomnia and much more. food sensitivity testing
If you have been experiencing concerns such as digestive discomfort, headaches, fatigue, insomnia, anxiety, joint pain, or skin disorders or some combination of these concerns, food sensitivities is something to explore. Food sensitivities are delayed immune system reactions to foods that you consume. Over time, these reactions produce inflammation within the intestinal wall and elsewhere in the body, leading to the symptoms mentioned above. To see if you have might have food sensitivities, a blood test is performed that gives us detailed information on the specific foods you are sensitive to and how sensitive you are to each food. From there we create a plan on how to avoid these foods and discuss alternatives and a course of action for treatment including herbs, supplements and lifestyle changes.
